Literally, ‘khoj’ comes from the Hindi word meaning ‘to look for’ and ‘aao’ translates as ‘to come’. Together, ‘khojaao’ means ‘to get lost’ or ‘wander’ and all of this is what we do.

Khoj-aao! Adventures is a Goa-based social enterprise promoting environmental awareness through customised outdoor experiences for participants of all ages.

Backyard Nature Trail (Assagao)
Our nature and birding trail explores Goa’s amazing backyard biodiversity (birds, butterflies and more) and
offers a glimpse into its rich natural, ancient and colonial history.
Duration: 2.5 hours / morning or late afternoon. Cost: 1 Adult – Rs.1200/- | 1 Kid (10 and below) – Rs 700/-

Camping (Bhagwan Mahaveer WLS)
Tent out under the beautiful night sky – a relaxing, quiet and green paradise. Space limited to 10 campers.

– Learn to set up a tent

– Morning guided nature walk to the river

Explore a vast lateritic plateau on a beautiful hillock in North Goa. The trail explores the wildlife in Goa’s
backyards and the colours, smells and sounds of the landscape. Use discovery tools to observe and learn more
about the rich bird, insect and plant life all around. It’s a great evening walk!
Cost: 1 Adult – Rs. 1200/- | 1 Kid (10 and Below) – Rs. 700/-

Backyard Nature Trails

Explore the beautiful backyard biodiversity across Goa. Our trails are between 2-5km and depending on location, can be shortened or lengthened. The pace is leisurely to observe viewpoints, flora, fauna, funga and any birdlife/wildlife that may be in the area. Join us for an amble on offbeat local paths, an insider’s glimpse into the greener side of Goa. Enroute, enjoy a nature picnic with all the colors, smells and sounds of the landscape. Use discovery tools to explore and learn more about the rich bird, butterfly, and plant life all around. Every season offers a different glimpse into nature’s life cycle and is a treat for all of the senses. It’s a great way to spend a morning or afternoon for explorers of all ages looking for an experiential, peaceful and unique adventure!

Overnight Camping

Camping is one of our favourite communal experiences– a chance to share with others, cook on the fire, sing songs, tell stories and to just ‘be’ in nature surrounded by wildlife, curiosity and adventure. Our campsite is safe, simple, natural, and comfortable. Once inside the Sanctuary, the campsite is a short walk away, a private piece of land tucked away, full of birds and surrounded by nature all on all sides. At the heart of the campsite, we have a communal campfire space where we build an evening fire to stay warm and prepare our dinner. Everyone can choose a spot to pitch a tent and enjoy the night in the great outdoors. There are toilet and shower facilities at the campsite, to make your experience in the outdoors more comfortable.

Young Explorer’s Club

Young explorers (ages 5-12) have the opportunity to explore different ecosystems over the 6-week session. Using high-quality tools and equipment, they will participate in interactive nature-related activities and games to observe, learn and discover more about Goa’s backyards. Sessions are hands-on with a focus on experiential learning methodologies. Custom-designed for 6-10 explorers, they are held weekly or bi-monthly in the afternoons. Topics include: Leave No Trace, exploring with binoculars and magnifying glasses, observing with our senses, discovering river ecology, sounds on a silent, navigation with compasses, and interactive art + nature activities. Sessions include a walk, activity and picnic. Parents are welcome to join to explore, learn and share.
